Blue Smoke

Music and Lyrics by Nick Marechal ©2016

A day early I came home

Walked in, she wasn’t alone

If Smith and Wes were with me

I’d be doing time

The way she did me was a sin

No looking back as the tires spin

I left her in the blue smoke behind me

Now drive her out of my mind

I drove half way to Chicago

Before I stopped to get lost in a bottle

The warning signs were there

Trust brushed them aside

Blind faith came back to bite me

She took the low road

So I hit the highway

And left her in the blue smoke behind me

Now drive her out of my mind

Now hold the cards tighter to the vest

Concentrate on what a man does best

And if I hold someone tonight

I won’t be looking for a true love

Although I took it on the chin

Down the road love will find me again

I left her in the blue smoke behind me

Now/can’t drive her out of my mind
